Day three was fun. We went to the San Diego Zoo, which was pretty awesome. I have pics, but they’ll have to wait until later. The zoo was huge. It would probably take a couple of days to really see everything. Nothing more to really say about that, other than it was cool.
After the zoo, we went to an area/(city??) called Old Town. One of my cousins, who has been out here numerous times, suggested that we eat at Old Town Mexican Cafe and that we try the fish tacos. Well, that was an awesome suggestion because it was amazing and fish tacos rule. They use freshly made tortillas for everything, and they really make the meal. It was by far the best Mexican food I’ve had so far.
Yesterday, (Sunday), we went to Hollywood. It was cool, I just wish we would have had more time. Our flights here being messed up caused us to lose a day. I’m not really sure what else I would have liked to have seen, but if we make another trip out here, I’ll definitely try to commit at least a full day, if not two days, to seeing LA.
Now, Chelsea and I are at the San Diego airport waiting on our flight, which is delayed by 30 minutes (what is it with this trip and delayed flights?). I don’t fly a whole lot, so I don’t know how common delays are. As long as it’s not delayed any longer, it won’t mess up our connection in Atlanta. But yeah, the flight leaves at 12 PM (west coast time) and we’re supposed to land in Jacksonville tonight at 11:30 (east coast time). We stop in Milwaukee, WI (no changing planes there, though) and then we change flights in Atlanta.
Awesome trip. Way too much time spent in airports. Would do it again.
Day two was much better than day one. We slept in, which was awesome. After getting up and such, Nicole and Steven took us down to Oceanside to walk around for a bit. Then for lunch, we went to In-N-Out Burger… awesome, awesome, awesome. You just have to forget for the time being that it’s not very healthy… just completely delicious.
After that we came back to Nicole & Steven’s place to relax some more and then headed off to Medieval Times. It was pretty awesome. I’d post a pic, but I can’t figure out how to add one to this post using Tumblr’s iPhone app. O_o
Anyways… We’re heading to the San Diego Zoo in just a bit and then going out somewhere tonight.
Well, what was supposed to be day 1 of California ended up being a bust.. at least half of it anyway. We were originally scheduled to get to LAX Wednesday night, but our flight from JAX to Atl was delayed and caused us to miss our connection flight. So we spent a horrible night in the really cold Atlanta airport waiting on the next flight to LA, which was at 8:45 AM Thursday.
Anyway, we made it to LA at around 10:25 AM (Pacific time). Chelsea’s friend, Nicole, picked us up and we headed to eat (me and Chelsea were starving). We ended up going to this Italian place called Luigi’s, which was really good. After that, we made the drive to Nicole’s and finally Chelsea and I got some sleep.
Now we’re on day 2 and, well, I’ll update on that when stuff happens.
